Super Sprint Triathlon
The race
All the excitement at half the distance. The Super Sprint uses a flatter bike route that skips the Gorge climb — ideal if you are taking on your first triathlon or targeting a fast finish. Same day, same finish line, same spirit.
First-timer questions, answered
You’ll collect your race number and everything you need when you register on Saturday 15th May. Registration is open from 2pm–5pm at Kings of Cheddar.
Only in an emergency, and only by prior arrangement with the race organiser — you MUST contact them well in advance to arrange this. There’s no walk-up registration on Sunday, so please register on Saturday if you possibly can.
Yes — this is exactly what it’s designed for. A 200m pool swim, a flatter 12.5k bike route with no Gorge climb, and a 2.5k run on the Strawberry Line. Same day, same finish line, same medal, same crowd cheering you home.
Front strokes only — no backstroke or butterfly — but breaststroke, front crawl and doggy paddle are all fine. The swim is in the 25m indoor pool at Kings of Cheddar, you’ll share a lane with 4 swimmers of similar speed, and you can hold the wall at the end of a length whenever you need a breather.
Any roadworthy bike — mountain bikes and hybrids are common at the Super Sprint. It just needs to pass the safety check in transition: working brakes, bar-end plugs, nothing loose. A helmet is mandatory and must be done up before you touch your bike.
Bike racking opens at 6:15 and closes 7:55am. The race gets underway from 8:00am, but your own start time depends on your swim wave — check the Swim Start Times download above so you know exactly when you’re off. Aim to arrive with plenty of time to rack your bike and walk the transition area without rushing.
